Resources for your Move

Moving is always pretty stressful, but we hope these insights will help you plan for your move and make it easier for you. Whether you are planning a move in or out with us- here’s what we recommend.

1. Give your Landlord at least 30 Days Notice along with your forwarding address
This must be submitted in writing to your landlord

2. Plan your Move and Pack Smart
Most professional movers recommend that at least two weeks before your moving day you have all your boxes ready to pack. Begin with your kitchen and closets as well as fragile items. Getting lesser used things packed first helps you to see what can be gotten rid of rather than moved around. Make sure to label your boxes and to not overfill them. If a box is too heavy it can become dangerous or too difficult to move.

3. Take Care of Your Utilities (if you pay them directly)
Close your accounts effective your first day OUT of the unit. Do not turn off your heat source if during the cold season.

4. Clean your unit
One part of moving is cleaning once everything is out. A lot of dirt and debris can hide behind your items. This is the best time to do a quick deep clean of things like your carpets, baseboards, appliances, cabinets, and bathrooms.

If you are moving out of one of our units, we provide a move out notice in your last month to help you leave the unit in good condition which gets you your security deposit back in full.

5. Donate items or do a trip to the dump
Do not overfill shared dumpsters. This will result in fees being kept from your deposit.

6. Change Your Address with the Post Office
You can do this online most times with the USPS.
